The temple was originally built in 1397 as the villa of General Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the prototype of General Toshi in the anime "Smart Ikkyu". It was later changed to the "Bodhi Temple" of the Zen temple.
During the maple leaf season, visiting Kinkakuji Temple will be a breathtaking sight, with the golden Kinkakuji Temple and the red leaves all over the mountain.

Attractions
[Kiyomizu Temple] A world cultural heritage site and a popular tourist destination in Kyoto. Founded in 778, it is the oldest temple in Kyoto and a national treasure of Japan. Jishu Shrine is located on the northern side of the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. It is a Japanese shrine for making connections and praying for luck in love.
Admission fee: Adults: 400 yen, elementary and junior high school students: 200 yen. Please pay for your own admission.
[Ninnenzaka and Sannennzaka] Ninnenzaka and Sannennzaka, located outside Kiyomizudera Temple, have unique Kyoto-style slopes and are listed as Japan's "Important Traditional Buildings Preservation Area. On both sides of the stone slope, there are Japanese-style buildings full of charm, with a strong Japanese style. Various delicacies, including paper fans, dolls, chopsticks, and other handicrafts, are dazzling.
【Shiji Trail】Turn right at the end of Ninnianzaka and continue walking north. You will come across the Shibei Path. There are fewer tourists here, and on both sides of the cobblestone path, you'll find elegant traditional Japanese housesthat make you feel like you're going back in time and far away. Quiet, return to tranquility.
【Gion・Hanamikoji】In the ancient and famous Flower Street, there were nearly a thousand geishas in Kyoto in the 1960s. There are still dozens of geisha teachers training in traditional tea ceremonies, including " Lebana, Guqin, Gagaku, Kyogen, Maiko, and Bunraku". When you enter Flower Street, you will be greeted by an old-fashioned style: there are tea houses with exquisite facades on both sides, and wooden lattice windows and doors are closed... This is a mysterious path that runs from north to south, with a total length of about 1 kilometer. The northern part is modern, while the southern part is traditional. Both the north and the south have their own styles and trends.
[Yasaka Shrine] The shrine located in Higashiyama District, Kyoto City, is one of the most famous and oldest shrines in the Kansai region. There is a special place for fortune-telling, writing on an altar, and asking for protection. The ema patterns are very diverse and the heart-shaped ema that prays for love is very popular.
You can try a local Kyoto-style lunch by yourself, admire the ancient buildings with their Japanese flavor, and take pictures with your mobile phone camera.
